File Error the specified file is locked

I am learning FCE4. When I try to save a file I get File Error the specified file is locked. I am using the Apple Pro Training series book and dvd to learn. so I am losing what I have worked on and need for later lessons. I don't know if it is the lessons or FCE4.

For now do a "Save As" and save it as another version. Example "Project" save as "Project V1".

Next I would close application. Run Disk Permissions on your system drive. Then trash preferences for FCE4. I would look to Apple's website for specific location of this file.

Final thought. Make sure the location your saving isn't locked. If your opening a project from the DVD you will need to save in a new location.
