iPhone cannot connect to the internet

I have a JB 3.1 iPhone 3g and I cannot connect to the internet with the 3g network. I've tried resetting my phone(including a hard reset), respringing the springboard, and refreshing the phone. Nothing. I've checked my settings and nothing's changed.

My phone bricked briefly, to which I responded with a hard reset and was fine, minus the lack of internet. Anyone have an explanation?

What happens when you try?

Do you get the "not subscribed to cellular data" message, or the "safari is not connected to the internet" message or what?

I get "Safari is not connected to the internet".

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the sim card

I have no internet connection on my phone either.
