Dan Lyons Apparently Thinks Yours Truly Hasn’t Heard About the Redesigned Plastic MacBooks, Redesigned (‘Impressive’) iMacs, Updated Minis (Including One That Ships With Mac OS X Server), the Multi-Touch Magic Mouse, and, as the Wildcard I’m-Not-Sure-I-Really-Believe-It-Myself Out-There Rumor, Maybe Even Some Sort of Mentioned-Nowhere-Else-But-in-This-Very-Headline Multi-Touch Trackpad Gadget for Desktop Macs That Apple Is Set to Release Tomorrow Morning.

that link takes me to a page with the identical link which takes me to a blog that does nothing for me:cool:
heres what it results in with no basis behind any claims
Can't tell you what, obviously. But there's something brewing. Gruber doesn't know about it, but the people we care about are being briefed in advance. Stay close to your Mac or iPhone, and have your credit card ready.

A multi-touch trackpad device for desktop users would be great! I hope it's true, but like Gruber, I won't believe it until I see it either. :p

I don’t see that happening.
The mighty mouse name was just awarded to a different company, apple can't use it.

Gruber's been wrong before, though. But he definitely has gotten a lot right before, as well. I'm excited.
Dan Lyons chiming in can't be a horrible sign, either.

Didn't they already license that name from someone?

Interesting, a multi-touch trackpad in addition to a multi-touch mouse. If true, looks like Apple is really pushing multi-touch on the pointing device.
At least it's more evidence for an imminent Mac update...

They liscense it from CBS, who gave up the computer mouse trademark.

As BSN reported Apple bought RV770 chips (http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/10/14/amd-shortage-apple-empties-amd-stock2c-buys-all-4800-series-cards.aspx) from AMD. This means we will see Radeon HD4850 and maybe HD4870 graphics card and maybe a return to INTEL chipsets instead of nVidia ones.

Mac mini server?
That's intriguing. Yes, I know you can run server on a mini, but a bundled, lower price would be tasty. As would the likelihood it would be more consumer oriented.

This is very exciting. I'm curious to see how thin the iMac's will be. I'm guessing 2 inches?

Slimmer? Are you looking for a space heater too? Any slimmer and they won't cool well enough.

I love how 9to5 says Apple "nixed" the release. Either they release or they don't, they don't withhold something because a bunch of goobers online are spending the day/night speculating about what is about to drop.
