Just wondering what time the Apple store usually goes down when and if they apply product updates? I've got a vague re-collection it's often around 11.00 - 11.30 UK time for an hour or so.

The store usually goes down around those times and comes back up about 1:30.

That was not the question.

What time is that in California and Hawaii time?

Hawaii is GMT - 10h during Standard Time. Hawaii does not observe Daylight Saving Time. So the difference is either minus 2 or minus 3 on California.

Anyway, getting back to their original question.

1:30pm UK
5:30am California
2:30am Hawaii

It might not matter though as it's almost 12:00 and the stores are still up :D

Did any one experience the time when apple "accidentally" posted the specs for the G5 on the G4 page back in the day. I only have experienced that from the old keynote. That would of been pretty funny.

The Apple Store seems to load unusually quick today even. Apple must have optimized it just to spite us and to utterly crush any hope we had

They could probably sell new, improved iMacs for $200 more than they are now and get away with it. We're all so excited to buy a new one, for those of us that have been waiting for something updated, it's like lambs to the slaughter. Chomping at the bit so they say...

Apple has updated at numerous other times in the day, in fact it really is not easy to predict when they will update.

I think Apple has started the update to the Apple store. If you go there, there is a little squirrel on the main store page which is covering up two of the iMac models which do not allow you to select those models. All they would have to do is delete the squirrel and under them will be the two new models of iMacs.

Why no big Presentation/Show/Conference if this is the next generation iMac... You would think they would make it a big deal...

Why does there have to be an event? I realize that Apple has done this in the past, but is it necessary, especially if it's about changes under the hood.

My thoughts exactly! Which one are you going for? I have to see the prices to make up my mind. I think maybe upgrading the processor on the lowest version might be a good option. Then upgrade the memory on your own. I have external drives to give me hard drive space.

I had just bought my first Mini two weeks ago as well. Today was the last day I could return it (with the 10% restock fee). If the low-end was $499 with the 2.26 processor, I would have made the switch. But I think I'll be sticking with my 2.00 processor.
