The high-end iMac video card is still the low-end of a previous PC generation (Radeon 4800 series -- 5800 series is out now). It may also be the mobile version, in which case you're looking at less performance than an 8800GT (from 2007).

Can't figure out why they'd put an awesome processor and a gimped video card (wasn't the 4850 BTO for the last gen iMac?) in an otherwise superb desktop.

Looks like it might be time to sell my (new) 24" iMac I bought earlier this year. That 27" is just calling my name...

Alright, I'm new to mac's. When can my wife and I buy one? We've been waiting for a few weeks since we heard that there was something new coming out. I called the local Apple store and they didn't know a thing and said it would be a couple of weeks before you could buy.

That is very sad. I'm glad I didn't wait. There is no way in hell you're going to run any games on the 27" at native resolution.

The new pricing seems a bit more reasonable too. Unfortunately, they didn't drop the ridiculous price of the Mac Pro's at the same time. :(

Thanks, I just called Apple and placed my order for a 27" iMac. It should be here in 2 days as I paid for 2 day shipping.

That 27" is a beast. Agree that the graphics situation is getting out of hand. Oh well.

The wireless keyboard is a new model too, the plastic antenna cover is now in the middle.

Also this is the one leaked in the recent FCC documents, only the bottom plastic cover seemed to be mentioned in them so thats why everyone thought there would be an even smaller wireless keyboard.

I see that the 27" models has a video input port. Does this mean I could/can hook up something like a Bluray player, DVD player or Xbox 360?

the device needs to have a Mini DisplayPort out
