Are new Core 2 Duo CPU's slower than the old ones?

It says in the specs that they come with 3MB L2 cache. The older CPU's had 6MB..

3.06GHz has 3MB but 3.33GHz has 6MB. iMacs have always used special CPUs so less cache may mean cheaper cost. It won't really affect much though
