all the whiners need to quit their bitching. the only people for whom i have any pity are those who made the switch to osx a few days/weeks before mwny and essentially have to pay double. otherwise i think the price is justified. we apple users have been fairly spoiled in terms of software lately, if you bought a new consumer computer in the past couple of years, chances are that it came with a couple of games and a few hundred megs of free mp3s, not to mention the freely available apps for audio/cd burning, dvd composition and burning, movie editing, digital photography management, etc. with the release of osx, lots of people who bought machines just before it came pre-installed were able to get a FREE osx cd from their local computer store, and when osx.1 was released, you could go back and get another FREE upgrade cd, meaning that there are lots of users who have not payed for osx anywhere through the chain (i'm included). apple has to pay their software developers sometime and with all the extra features of 10.2, i'ts worth it to support the company that we've all grown to love. i'll admit, giving itools away for free and then charging for it 2 years later was a little uncharacteristic, but once again, apple has to make money somewhere. if you dont think that 10.2 is worth your money then dont buy it and quit your bitching. if you feel like being a jackass and downloading it from some p2p app, you obviously think that it's worth having but shouldnt be surprised when apple has to charge $500 for the next upgrade. if you're that pissed about the $130, find a damn student and get it for $70 (you would be surprised how many schools there are). any of the classic upgrades from previous systems cost about that much and no one complained then. whew... i'm exhausted...🙂
