It's good practice to backup before a genius bar trip in general. With a JB phone, I'd imagine most people would do a clean restore. That's the route I'd go.

I usually restore the phone or if I'm in a rush I'll disable all themes and hide jailbroken app icons.

Not sure exactly what you are asking.
If you take a currently JB phone to Genius, they will likely not work on it and likely cancel any remaining warranty that you might have.
That is Apple's general response to a JB iPhone.

The store near me isn't harsh as "canceling any remaining warranty", but they won't service an iPhone that they can tell is jailbroken.

Haha. At my local Apple store in Rancho Cucamonga, the Genius gave me his own private repo address and helped me get my LockInfo working :o

Restore, set up as new phone.
Do it again.
If youre in a rush just hide everything...WELL.

That's awesome. I wonder what kind of risk he's taking with something like that...

I'm sure he can be fired, potentially. But I like the story. =)

I doubt he'd get fired for modifying a device he owns.

One of the Genius' I went to asked me what carrier I have, and when I told him "Cincinnati Bell" he said "You know you can unlock this and use it on any carrier?" He then gave me the site blog.iphone-dev.org, little did he know my phone was jailbroken and unlocked merely hours before going to the Apple Store...:D

I wasn't talking about him modifying his device. I was talking about him helping a customer with non-Apple modifications thus voiding his warranty. I realize his phone was already jailbroken but him knowing and not noting it in the system was what I was getting at.
