Is there a way that I can boot OS X from CD in order to run updates? I don't ever use OSX except to update hardware stuff (efi ect). So I would rather not eat up 8-10gigs for something I only use 3-4 times a year.
Is there any other alternative ways to do updates?
Thank you!

I am pretty sure you can install OS X on a usb-stick, boot it from there, and run updates.
