.mac names for iChat?

It is funny how, unless something with .mac changes, we all not willing to pay for .mac will be having to use iChat with AIM names and not .mac names.
 
Um.. how is that funny? I plan on buying .mac when I get Jaguar but I still plan on using my AIM name with iChat since more people know it.
