Hi.

Recently, my MacBook's fan noise has increased from a whisper to not-so-much. Also, it now has a whirring instead of a whooshing sound. I took it out and cleaned it to no avail. Now, should I just buy a new fan off eBay or take it in to Apple (it's less than 1 years old)?

Thanks for any help.

A fan's condition isn't assessed by the noise it's making, as long as it's pushing air out properly it's fine. I've worked with electronics that require fans/liquid/lnitrogen cooling, and as long as your c/gpu is getting cooled properly by the fan, until it breaks you don't need to replace it.
