So I am about to go purchase a 27" iMac today if they have them in stock at the local apple store.

Before doing so. I was curious about doing a SSD upgrade as I have a Patriot 128GB SSD I would like to replace the 1TB drive with. I would use external firewire or usb for mass storage so that is not a worry.

After upgrading all my pc's, netbook and mac mini with ssd's the speed different is huge and I don't want to lose that with the iMac.

So - How's the upgrade procedure for the new iMac hard drive install? I assume it's a 3.5", does the 2.5" ssd fit okay, is it a slide in hard drive mount system (similar to the mac mini or laptops where the hard drive goes into a bay and just slides into place) or something else?

Hi, I'm interested in looking more in to this drive in my new iMac 27" Core i5 -- the OCZ Colossus 120GB 3.5" -- http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...ata_ii_3_5-ssd

Does anyone have more info on this?
