Hello I was wanting to know how hard it is to change top and bottom case and keyboard area? I would like to know that if anything was to happen to my soon to have macbook I could change it. Also this on the older macbooks. And if I have Apple to change it how much would it cost? And yes I know that they should replace keyboard case area for free because of the defunct cracking issue. Thanks I appreciate the help.

The top lid and keyboard are fairly easy to change but the bottom case is the main problem. Since everything is basically sitting inside of it you have to take everything out of it and place it into the new bottom case.

Have a look (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/MacBook-Core-Duo-Lower-Case/305/1) yourself :)

I've just about done this before on my mb
just review instructions on ifixit
all you have to do is remove a bunch of screws and remember where they go later
the only hard problem would be the heat sink and the cpus because you'd have to apply new thermal paste, I'd recommend artic silver
