I have had my iphone since about April. I started off with AT&T and used T-mobile as my main phone. I found out how bad ATT was around this area and the coverage was terrible compared to Tmo. So I decided to jailbreak my iphone after OS3 was released, i unlocked it and slipped in my Tmo SIM and have been using the iphone with Tmo for about 4 months now. I canceled my ATT plan as well.

But when I purchased my iphone I had purchased the Applecare for the phone.. now that I am not a legitimate ATT customer, does this AppleCare still stay intact? If anything happens to the phone/battery/defects If I unjailbreak and restore will I be able to get the phone fixed?

Jailbreaking/unlocking your iPhone technically voids the warranty and Apple will refuse to provide service or support for it, even if you've purchased the extended Applecare warranty. However, I have heard that people get around this by restoring their iPhone and borrowing a friend's AT&T SIM card before bringing it to Apple for service - with no signs of jailbreaking on it and with a legitimate AT&T SIM, Apple will not know that it has been jailbroken/unlocked.

If I still have my SIM card from ATT and put it into the phone, will it activate just won't make call right?

Could I do that maybe? or not because the phone number isn't activated ?

If that SIM card is not activated and won't show AT&T and the signal meter in the top left of the home screen, I doubt it since it won't appear to be active on an AT&T plan.
