I am attracted to buying a new 21.6 Imac desktop and will wish to stream internet audio/video to my HD TV.
Clearly the way to do this is to the HDMI port on the TV.
There seems to be doubt as to whether the latest Imac has HDMI output port.
Surely this is the way forward to converge the two bits of kit ?
help please from someone who knows the in depth situation.
Many thanks

It has Mini DisplayPort but you can get MDP to HDMI adapter. Also, Monoprice has released MDP + USB to HDMI (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5969&seq=1&format=2) so it has both video and audio

You will also need an audio cable. If your tv has Optical audio in ports you can use a mini-toslink to toslink cable.

Yes. I just got this for my MBP. It works great with USB audio routing nicely through HDMI cable (now only one cable, and no analog audio). Only thing is this adapter which has a square box (for the usb to hdmi conversion I guess) gets really really hot with even nominal use. I hope it is durable. Otherwise video and audio quality is excellent.
