This post is a follow-up question to my earlier post, Best Arm Options For New 27" iMac (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=807142)...

(A) Does anyone know what the weight of the stand that comes with one of the new 27" iMac weighs alone?

(B) If not, is there anyone who (i) has removed their stand and has it at hand, and (ii) has a functioning weighing device available for use?

(C) if neither, thanks for reading, and goodnight!

If I had to guess, I’d say no more than a pound.

While I appreciate the guesses, I'm still curious to find out the exact weight of the 27" iMac stand...

I thought I'd try giving this thread a bump, as I've still been unable to find out the weight of the built-in stand on the new iMacs, and the question keeps coming up in my enquiries regarding articulating arms (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=807142&highlight=weight) for the new 27" iMac.

So please and thank-you in advance to anyone who has removed their stand for a wall mount or arm, and who has access to a scale...

Question Answered!

Thank-you to MesMaker, who was kind enough to break out the scale in another thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=824601) and bring closure to this one:

Weight of stand only ... no screws nothing. 2 lbs 10.2 oz

So that puts the weight of the standless 27" iMac at 30 lbs 8 oz - 2 lbs 10.2 oz = 27 lbs 13.8 oz.

They told me I was crazy, but I was wondering the same thing. There's a 30lb VESA arm that I want but the 27 is a touch over according to apple but it's good to know someone thought about the stand's weight.
