Unable to set voicemail number and "My Number"

Hi!

Anybody have any ideas why I can't set my voicemail number? I've tried *5005*86*+4747919191# (the number is my voicemail number), but when I hit call it only blinks for half a second and nothing happens.

As well I am unable to set the "My Number" in Settings->Phone. It just says "Unknown", and I can't click the field to enter anything manually...

I've googled a little, and found that the "My Number" field gets its information from the SIM card, and the solution seems to be to put the SIM card in another phone, set the "my number" and then when reinserted into the iPhone everything should be fine.

Voicemail still an issue though.

have you tried resetting your vm?
