Good, Reasonably Priced Surround Sound for My Room

I am looking for a good system of surround sound speakers for my dorm room. They need to have an optical digital input. They need to cost under $400. Thanks for any help.

I have been looking at the following, and they look nice.
LOGITECH Z-5500 5.1 speakers

But are these good, and does anyone have any other recommendations?

As I was reading your post I was like hmm the z-5500 might be a good choice then I read what you said heh, well I bias towards them because I own them and I think they are great but then again I haven't really experienced anything else other than high end tv speakers.

But heaps of websites give them good reviews and I think they are great as well.

Other than that I dunno about anything else.
