The amount of space below the current setting options in the Magic Mouse Systems Prefs certainly indicates to me there's plenty of room for add'l features that could be introduced with future software updates. As many have opined, I too really love the expose feature and probably wouldn't switch 'til it's part of optional Magic Mouse features.

Future seems near endless.

Do you mean AN Apple, or... "AAPL"? :p

Agreed but I wonder why Apple would not release certain features. They could really blow people away if they have a whole set of gestures

I guess that they just want to gauge how people take to a new way of mousing (if thats even a word) before over facing users with what may appear to be complicated gestures and settings!

That's not good enough ... I've got 10 toes as well. ;)

I wouldn't put it past them to release software that allows custom commands, similar to those offered in the Logitech Control Center for the MX and VX Revolution mice.

I think it has potential. After playing with it at the store I was impressed but I think using a different material that lets your fingers slide easier would be more effective. The plastic surface is a little sticky for me and makes your fingers rub and catch on to the surface.

Just using mine this morning, and it does feel different to the one in the shop, more smooth and shiny, I'm just wondering how long it will stay that smooth and easy to scroll on!

Do you think that in the future they will release some sort of polish to keep the surface nice and smooth, sort of in the same way you polish bowling bowls and alleyways?

I'll bet a new feature would be to be able to right click when you have a finger on both sides (too bad it's not technically possible).

I say 10 finger swiping next.

I think you'll find that we don't have ten fingers.

I'm just hoping they address the tracking issue. An awful lot of posters besides me have said the tracking is too slow, especially given the increasing size and resolution of most people's desktop. Those with 13" or so screens can adjust it down. I'm hoping Apple is listening.

I hope Apple is listening too, and one of the best ways to do that is via http://www.apple.com/feedback/ !
Just making sure everyone knows about this-it really is effective!

So isn't 10.6.2 expected to expand its functionality when its released?

I want tap to click to happen. As well as 2 finger tap to right click.

And 2 finger zooming and rotation.

If we can use two fingers to swipe pages, we can hold the mouse and zoom/rotate as well. This mouse has caused jawdrops to everyone who has seen mine so far, as has the amazingly smooth scrolling and how well it all works, but it lacks the complete package.

Though so far, it's amazing.

I thought the Thread Title meant something else. I was actually thinking it was about the next generation MM. I like the new mouse but still think it needs to develop more. The size or shape is still off and yes added gestures as mentioned would be great also.

For my hand it's a little to narrow and a little too long. IDK? It's just off still with it's overall shape. Maybe next year I will be able to get away from Logitech & Steermouse.

That's just to keep it clean. Every couple of week's you'll have to apply a new layer of http://buttercuppunch.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/crisco.jpg to keep that factory optimized usability.
