I was just told that you are supposed to charge your ipod immedietly when you get if for a few hours to increase battery life. When I got it, the first thing I did was turn it on, look it over and then put on my songs. I then used it right away on low battery. Will this hurt my battery in the long run? Should I return it for a new one while I can?

Thats not what I heard. I heard you're suppose to drain the battery and then charge it. That will optimize battery life.

It is recommended to let your iPod fully charge before its first use however it won't cause your iPod to suddenly go kaput either.

Huh... Apple reccomened to charge it first then transfer the music then calibrate battery. Thats what I am doing now. I say 2 hours from now my ipod will be on ac adapter to charge.

PS it is in the getting started manual

I can't believe /batteries is on the same level of the site as /g5 and /ipod.
