Just had email from a UK company that say they can unlock the 3gS 3.1.2

Has anyone tried it yet

I dont know about that yet but i will know tomorrow. :P going out to get the 3GS tomorrow since i got so drunk last weekend that i updated my 3G over iTunes without even knowing it until i woke up the day after.. lol at me.. :( will try them tomorrow it is just 40£ anyway.

It's a scam people. There is currently no unlock available and there's only a small group of people working on it and when it's out it's always FREE.. Maybe you should drink less and read more.

my mate uses this to unlock and update his (he has no idea about jailbreaking and uses it only for the unlock) and they lay out the whole procedure very simply and yes they do use ultrasn0w. The unlock is imei dependant they say and is currently being made for his imei. However, he is already unlocked as he just kept the unlock from fw 3.0

They are a scam. They will be selling Geohot's unlock, which Geohot gives away for free. Wait until the 4th November, and get it directly from Blackra1n.com, ie from Geohot, who wrote it, and who doesn't want anyone ripping you off.

Just to repeat, the guy who runs iphoneunlockuk is a crook, a thief and a scammer.

anyway the 3Gs i got was on FW 3.0.1 so i just used ultrasn0w. :) Guess i was lucky. I enjoy tethering on software 3.0.x and i don't seem to have a battery issue. all in all happy.

But going to buy a new 3Gs in Norway when i go home for holidays since in Norway the consumer can legally tell the provider to unlock the iPhone for a small fee 230 £ and it will then be legally unlocked forever. I am so happy i am from a country with 5 Years consumer law, All companies selling electronics in Norway need to give you 5 years product guarantee. If not they are breaking the Law. Life is good.

The trouble is, it probably IS going to work. But he's stealing Geohot's free unlock, adding no value, and scamming people for £40 a time. Don't fall for it.
