View Full Version : Do your dreams make sense?

Most of my dreams just don't make sense. Most of the characters who appear in my dreams are all strangely mixed or very odd. I really can't even describe my dreams in words. It will be harder for me to describe my dreams than to describe Picasso's paintings.

Once in a while I do dream something that can at least make sense enough for me to tell someone about it regardless of how simple or complex the story sounds. But, most of the time, they are just outright weird or strange.

IF, I remember them, I wouldn't even know how to start to describe them.

Yes, they are dire warnings from the future... :D

I only remember my dreams when I am depressed (I suffer from recurring depressions of about 2-3 weeks at a time), but when I do they always have a sort of internal plot-line. The same people, places, whatever recur, but things change over the course of the dream. I don't know if these are different REM-cycles or if I just dream continuously, but it's kind of weird how real they seem sometimes.
The recurring theme is usually being back in high school and somehow missing a class so I can't graduate (which happened - I failed GYM of all things, but I took a follow-up exam to graduate).

My dreams rarely have plot continuity. Even when they do, the things that occur are completely nonsensical.

I love it, and I try to write them down as often as possible.

I cannot remember the last time I 'remembered' a dream :( so meaningless I guess

My dreams are often adventures. I had one last night where 2 friends that I play Left4Dead with turned up at my house in preparation for a real zombie apocalypse. It was rather run, we drove around trying to find weapons as we quickly scrambled up to a bunker on the moors.

Mine don't make sense but they do follow a plot at least.

Haha my dreams are similar. I think last week I had a dream where me and my friends were finally going on a roadtrip to New York that we were planning on and on the way, we somehow ended up in London.

Heh, sounds like fun. I sometimes wonder if these kind of dreams have a purpose. Like our subconcious is telling us to live out these slightly realistic dreams :D.

Also had another dream last night where me and my sister were detectives, we had to investigate some kind of brothell with a rather illustrated and eccentric owner. The whole thing was really bizarre, an open plan brothell as it were. My sister got captured by some bad guys so I had to rescue her. Had to smash through some window, slide down a well placed metal sheet and faced off against the final boss. Fun!

That depends, I can have normal dreams, then I'll have a weird one. I.E. I've been chased by a t-rex, then when I got on a ferry to cross the lake, the T-rex started running across the water. Dream or not, that was an OH SH%T moment

When I was a kid I used to dream in episodes, the next time I had a dream it would pick up from where I'd left off.

I wake up looking forward to the next one :)

I either remember them when they're,
A, Nightmares. (I get some pretty complex nightmares, they got more complex as I got older.)
B, Really Really Random.

I had a dream earlier, but after a few hours I tend to forget it. It is annoying.

Most of them do, the ones that don't are forgotten almost immediately.

Most of my dreams don't make alot of sense. Some do, and some seem to be familiar, like I've had the same dream before. Once in awhile, those "deja vu" dreams have me wondering if it was a dream, or something I remembered that actually happened. When I'm fully awake, I realize it wasn't a memory, just a dream.

I dream about being Batman.

So not only do my dreams make sense, but they're better than yours.

Same here, and i wake up trying to think what it was i was dreaming about. I would estimate i would have maybe 3 really random dreams during the week

Mine make no sense, there will just be random people I know, but them doing random things.
A side note: has anyone ever had a dream, then the day after or so, you'll think about that dream, but not know when you experienced that dream?
Like, I'll have a weird dream one night, then a day or two later, I'll think about that dream or any other dream, and have no idea if it happened a week ago or a year ago. Like I have no perception of time when it comes to dreams.
Sorry if I confused anybody.

I usually have dreams that make sense, but are more hyper reality than my usual life would be.

I found that writing down what I could remember of my dreams in the morning caused me to start remembering my dreams nearly every night. I did that for a while a couple years ago, it was pretty fun. I got to the point were I would have these really long dreams that sort of morphed from one scenario to the other.

Nobody's dreams make sense. But, they contain vital bits of information that when correctly interpreted provide the self-revelation needed to achieve enlightenment and harmony with the universe. At least that's what my psychic/paranormal adviser tells me, which reminds me I need to write him a check and schedule our next session. :D

They're weird, but I can describe them. For example, in a recent one, a friend of mine got a yellow Hummer, but it had an open roof and no doors. He was able to just jump up and get into it, but I couldn't, and so i was hanging on the side of the thing while he was driving through my small town at 60mph. The cops started chasing us and I remember screaming "if I wind up getting killed, I'm coming back and strangling you!" Then I woke up.

Has anyone had a dream that wasn't about yourself?

I had a dream last night where I was someone else, doing something that had nothing to do with any part of my life.

It was a strange experience to wake up to.

Most of my dreams make at least a small amount of sense. It's rare I have one of those dreams where you wake up and go, "What?"

My dreams make sense at the time, but afterwards, not so much. I've had two dreams in my life vivid enough that I can remember them. I had a dream about a hamster once that was so funny that i woke up laughing. That was a long time ago. I have a recurring dreams now that just flat out freak me out.

I remember mine at times pretty clearly. I used to have this recurring dream where I was at some two-storey convention center thing that had a back room on the first floor. Over the times I kept having the dream, the ceiling of the first floor got lower and lower and more cramped, and the back room got slowly filled with boxes and strange old furniture and the room got blocked in.

The last time I had the dream no one had been down there in a very long time, and I had to be lowered into the room through a hole in the ceiling. Everything was covered in cobwebs and there was no light, and for some reason I couldn't stay long - just look around quick and then leave.

Last time I had it was around eight years ago. I know it means something.

Hadrly ever do I remember them. But when I do I have a hard time telling if they were really happening. Expecially when there is a strange Mac in the dream and it was at home:D

Last night, I started feeling really kind of sick. I had body aches and sinus aches, and I only slept about two hours. During that two hours, I had horrifying dreams about random people including various celebrities screaming at me in Spanish.

My dreams are weird in that there is constant and instant changes of the people around me and where I am. For example, last night - I was having a dream about an ordinary day and I was sitting on the couch in my house texting. Then, out of nowhere, I am in the middle of the parking lot of a Boston Pizza. Being hungry, and having my wallet, which for some bizarre reason had an almost shocking amount of cash in it, I went in for a bite to eat. As soon as I got in to the restaurant, I "teleported" back home. Then, a lovely UPS man came and I had to sign for a package. What was in the box? Absolutely nothing.
