What is the benifit to update F/W

I have a 2gen. and have not updated the newest F/W. What if any is the benfit to update?
My touch works just fine the way it is.

updating gives u new features n stuff. it also may give u new bugs n stuff but u can always restore back.

I updated my 2nd gen. iPod Touche to the latest 3.x firmware and bought bluetooth headphones to use with it. Works great. I was so tired of the headphone wires when exercising in the gym. That is the main benefit to me for upgrading the firmware.
