View Full Version : ipod glitch when plugged into a computer

OK, I've asked loads of people about this one, and no-one seems to have an answer, but when I am transferring songs from itunes via my PC, my 3rd gen 40gb ipod behaves very strangely. It is fine until I eject the ipod, when it seems to get 'stuck' somehow. The 'notes' and 'contacts' folders do not load up, it just says 'notes/contacts loading' but never actually loads, so I cannot view the information. Also, the hard drive goes crazy, and keeps spinning until it gets really hot - even when I'm not actually doing anything. I usually have to turn off the ipod, wait until it has fully cooled down, and then re-set it, but sometimes I have to do this 3-4 times before it returns to normal. Apart from this, it works fine, but it is very annoying, and makes me reluctant to plug it into my computer too often, as I'm sure re-setting it lots of times can't be too good for it.
HELP ANYONE!!!?????
