Exact measurements for 27' iMac?

I wont have a reason to go to the Apple Store or Best Buy for another few weeks and need a way to show my gf the size of the screen. Does anyone have exact horizontal and veritcal measurements for the screen?

Are you talking about the dimension of the whole unit, or just the screen? The dimensions of the iMac are 25.6"W x 20.4"H x 8.15"D.

The screen dimensions require a little math. If you take that the screen's diagonal is exactly 27" ... you get 23.5" x 13.2".

It's not a lazy question because I just worded it wrong in the thread title. I was actually looking for the dimensions of the physical screen. ftaok how did you get that number? Is that considering it is at 16:9 ratio?

Yeah, it's just math. We know that it's 16:9, so the formula is a^2 + b^2 = c^2.

let
16x= width
9x= height

to solve for x, we use
(16x)^2+(9x)^2=27^2
we simplify it
256(x)^2+81(x)^2=729
337(x)^2=729
sqrt(337)x=27
x=27/sqrt(337)
x=about 1.47078

so we go back to the original width and height formulas with x
16x= width
9x= height
and plug in x
16(1.47078)=23.53248 width
9(1.47078)=13.23702 height

and that's it! about 23.53248in width x 13.23702in height. High school algebra is useful!
