Bought my rev A 15" 1.25 PB in January with the intention of getting more RAM later (had to go for the stock 2 x 256 since was buying it off the shelf to get a discount in my local store).

Now thinking about buying the extra RAM and had a look at Crucial

They have a 1G for £303 or I could buy 2 x 512 for £109

Aside from having to dispose of a 512 if I decide to upgrade again (unlikely at the moment) is there any reason not to go for the 2 x 512 when it's so much cheaper?

no. most recommend getting a 512mb stick, since the 1gb stick is so expensive. i´m not sure whether you will be able to use both sticks though, since one slot is fixed (i think) and the other is expandable (f.e. 12" pb always 256mb + 1 more stick 256-1gb).

Well it'll cost you an extra £200 to buy a 1GB stick, that's a little crazy. You probably won't need more than 2x512 anytime soon and you can easily sell your 2x256 on eBay to make back a bit of the upgrade cost.

If money is no object get the 1GB if you want to save the money for some other upgrade get the 2x512.
