Yes, Garageband does count but moreso looking for fellow working musicians out there who are mac fiends, like I am.

I play in a band, called Oktbrwrld (October World) based in the DC area. We are poised to make some major moves in the next 6 months or so... We play "alternative R&B" which is essentially guitar based neo-soul and have a stage show that is not unlike Earth Wind and Fire, Cameo and some of the other originators of soul and funk.

You can check us out at www.oktbrwrld.com. Our full band album, "It's All About the Band" is available at the iTunes Store as well... Check it out!

Probably not quite the type of musician you're looking for, but I'll post anyway.

I'm a music education major at Oregon State. I sing baritone and play piano, and I can play guitar adequately.

Vocally, my repertoire includes opera, Broadway, and art music in English, French, German, and Italian. I love singing the twentieth century operas. And I find that when I go to a symphony concert, it holds my attention the full two-plus hours, whereas when I go to a concert for a pop or rock group, I get bored after forty-five minutes, even though I like both genres equally.

I'll be having my junior recital this year, and then a voluntary senior recital the year after, then I figure I'll do a recital for my master's just for fun. Eventually, I'd like to teach choir at the high school or university level, and give voice and piano lessons. Doing a little performance would also be a lot of fun.

Ultimately, it's about all of us who have such a passion for the art that we endeavor to make a living at it. I admire that you study such a disciplined form of music... and you get my ultimate respect in that you plan to teach... Where would any of us be without that first music teacher who shared their love for music with us, infected us with the disease of manipulating sound to move others to the heights and depths of human emotion.

Good luck on your recital(s) and with your future studies!
