isn't this more of a desktop software support issue than the phone's OS? AFAIK All BB's support OS X now that RIM has desktop software for OS X.

Maybe the 9700 is the first to have the Mac software in the box instead of as a download?

I thought that honor went to the Blackberry 8520? I'm pretty sure I saw some unboxing video that even said that.

Which would be a very 2005 approach, given how quickly software changes. Apple stopped shipping iTunes with iPods years ago in favor of directing everyone to download it, not only because the version on the disc was invariably out-of-date, but also because it allowed the packaging to be substantially reduced.

Or perhaps I'm overestimating how actively RIM will be maintaining their Mac desktop app.
