Macbook speakers sounding a little funny!

Hi folks,

I have MacBook (13-inch, Aluminium, Late 2008) and the speakers sound really bad. It just happened suddenly while watching a video on Youtube. Really tinny and crackly. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a warranty fault?
