Yeah, please post your first hand experience/comments and post a photo as well ...

i know this is three days early 😛

More like 4-5 days... According to shipping dates, we will see reviews/benchmarks/first impression starting friday! Can't wait.

Anybody in Anchorage order a quad core?

Yes...I ordered an i7, 8GB ram, 2TB HD with the 4850 graphics card. Checked Apple this evening and my order has been changed to "prepared for shipment" so hopefully it will be here via FedEx early next week.

One Lady called Carressa has already received her Core i5 iMac today, She is supposedly at work and will do a hands on review once she gets home with pics. You can check the Waiting for i7 Thread for her post.

Mine is on the tarmac at Shanghai Airport. Missed the 8:30 flight to Anchorage... I was really hoping it would be faster...🙄

by Friday we can expect most of the apple stores to carry the iMac (once all the preorder stocks shipped)

Got mine in 3 days (from Shanghai to Tokyo).

i7 4gb wireless keyboard.

Sticked in another 4gb I bought at a local store in Akihabara even before turning it on for the first time.

Result: AWESOME... no strange sounds. Can hear the hard drive, same as the previous core duo early 2006 iMac I used before. No flickering screen, no dead pixels, no sounds when it's sleeping, well... just perfect. And man this thing is blazingly fast. VMware flies, even with 3D games. It's hard to make it sweat, but I could do it compressing several videos at once with Quicktime and the CPU fan got over 2000 rpm, quite noisy but nothing alarming at all, not even bothering. If you put your hand on the top back you can feel the warm air going out.

In general use, the fan never runs over 1000 rpm.

Edit: Youtube wasn't a problem at all, CPU stays calm even using HD fullscreen...

Well, I just took delivery to my i7! 🙂 Now the waiting game begins here at work.... now only 6 more hours until I get home. 🙂
