Ultrasn0w 0.92 update? Should I install?

I noticed there is an update for Ultrasn0w available in Cydia. I researched a bit and apparently its a fix for the carrier logo that was apparently lost for some people after JB.
My carrier logo is fine, should i install this regardless? I want to make sure no other issues will pop up because of it.....

I take it you are still on 3.0? I guess you don't need to upgrade it unless you decide to upgrade to 3.1. On the other hand, it's a very minor upgrade if you look at the code. It really just a one bit change which should have no effect on any other function of the baseband. But in the end it's up to you.

You are apparently still on fw 3.0.1 or below. If your unlock is OK, no need to run the new US.

It is for those with custom firmware 3.1.2 and baseband 4.26.xx who's carrier logo doesn't report correctly with that fw/bb combination.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have a question regarding the ultrasn0w upgrade. I used PwnageTool to upgrade to 3.1.2 from 3.0. I had the Carrier Logo problem but I did not install ultrasn0w since I don't need an unlock.

So in order to get the carrier logo back, should I install ultrasn0w to get it back even though I do not need the unlock?

I have the same problem. I don't use ultrasn0w (I'm contracted with AT&T) but my carrier logo is missing ever since the latest jailbreak.

I went ahead and installed the new ultrasn0w. The carrier logo is back and haven't noticed any problems with having ultrasn0w installed even though I'm legit AT&T.

Yes, it will fix your carrier issue but the unlock portion will not work, but no ill effects from that.

Edit: As they are on 4.26.xx, the unlock will work. I was thinking 5.11.xx :eek:

Hey, just wondering why the unlock portion would not work?

I'm thinking you might mean that it would not work because I have a legit sim in it, but if I were to put a non-legit sim, would it work?

You are correct, I was thinking about baseband 5.11.xx, but as you are still on 4.26.xx, it will work. Sorry !

I installed it simply for the Carrier Fix. It's all the same to me. I sorta grew fond of having no carrier logo for a while. It looked cool.
