Hello mac heads...it might sound like a silly question but i just wanted to make sure,i have the usb cable that came with my touch but i noticed if my mac goes to sleep and i check my ipod touch it is out of battery,do i need a power adapter where i dont have to worry about my mac going to sleep and not charging it ...im guessing it only charges when the mac is in use??...do i have to connect to the computer directly or can i use a 2.0 hub ?

My iPods and iPhones have always charged from my Macs while they've been sleeping.

It also your USB port settings. On some PCs i know that the USB port will disable while in "Sleep mode". I have not had that problem with my iMac though. It could be as easy as adjusting a setting. :apple:

I'll see if I can Google some info for you

There was also this website I found as well.

Hope this helps. I still think that there is a setting. PCs you would find the setting in the bios. Not 100% sure about Macs though... I just started using them again.

My experience is that when my MBP goes to sleep, my iPod Touch doesn't charge. This is an assumption based on the fact that if my iPod is connected to my laptop and I restart my laptop, my iPod beeps at me when the laptop starts up just like when I first plug it in to be charged.
