November 10th, 1775, is regarded as the official birth of the Marine Corps.
Politics aside (please), Americans of all backgrounds can/should be able to take a second and say "thanks", if they so desire.

Agreed, it is a difficult path for those who have chosen to serve. They have my respect and thanks.

Semper fidelis jarheads... you have my praise for your bravery; my debt for keeping the nation safe, and my thanks for being U.S. Marines...
From the Halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.
Long live the U.S. Marines...

They have been guarding the Main Gates at Naval Bases since 1775, and I don't know of ONE gate that has ever been stolen!!!!
All joking aside, I have a HIGH respect for them, their willingness to serve, and for helping us (and others) enjoy our freedom.
Happy Birthday to any one of you that serves, or has served!
