Duplicating a homemade DVD?

I made a home video using iMovie, then burned a few copies to DVD's... now my grandparents want a copy of it too, but I deleted the original files to free up space on my hard drive.

So, is it possible (with Apple's Disk Utility) to create a disk image of my copy of the DVD, then burn a new one using that? Or is there something that prevents me from doing that since it's video? (or is that only a problem with commercial DVD's?)

I suppose I could just try it, but I'd rather not waste a DVD if it doesn't work. :p

Yep Disk utility will do that (or toast if you have it). But since you haven't used any encryption I believe you could also just drag the files off of the disk then burn them on to a new DVD. But if you prefer in disk utility you click on the disk on the left then go to images>new>image from DVD (or whatever it is called) then save it to where ever you have the free space. At this point the image (probably a .dmg file) will appear on the left hand side in disk utility and then you can just click on burn when you have a new DVD in the drive.

I've done this many times over the course of a coverting-old-home-video-to-DVD project.
