I just wish they would move their call center where people speak English a bit better and don't get mad at me for not understanding them. Also, if you are going to pay little to nothing for your support people, howsabout hiring enough to not put people on hold for and hour when they call.

Quark blows.

too little, too late? at my work we use indesign and we all love it, but we do have quark in case one of customers brings us files in it. we have gotten so enamored with indesign that we actually draw straws to see who has to work with the quark file. the compensation for the sad sap who gets to grumble about quark, is everyone has to buy their lunch for the week. bottom line, quark you are done in the eyes of myself, my co-workers, and very many in the industry. so feel free to go [bleep] yourself and your over-bloated, under-thought program. thank you and buh-bye... did i mention i really dislike quark ;)

After years of bullying it's customers with an arrogant, pompous attitude....Quark sees it's end in sight and is just gasping for air.

R.I.P. Quark.
We've all hated you for years...and now we have an alternative.

I have never used ANY design programs before I started working here about a year and 8 months ago. No Quark, no InDesign.. no Pagemaker. Just Photoshop and Dreamweaver (I build websites on my own time). Anywho.. started working here. They were running OS 9 on a G4 550mhz with Photoshop 5.5 and Quark 4.1. Well, I was taught how to use Quark.. thats what my boss knew how to use. After a while, I said **** it..

Now were running InDesign about 90% and Quark 6 the rest of the time. Remember, every single file in the computer was quark until I had them get InDesign.. so for the files that dont open, or I dont want to dick with, I still use Quark.. but mostly, I convert or create all new files in InDesign. Quark sucks. And thier tech support is HORRID! I dont understand them.. they dont understand me.. and they barely know what they are talking about.

Viva la InDesign!

Damnit Mr. Sebastian... you took the words clean out of my mouth... word for word, even the "... did i mention i really dislike quark" part.

Basically I want to post in this thread but am left saying "what he said."

I'm glad they're finally coming around to know reality. I hope they continue to improve their product. I'd hate to be stuck with Adobe as the only solution for print media. It's obvious that Adobe only cares a little more than Quark, considering the poor optimisation in their Mac OS X versions.

You people talk about Quark the way I used to talk about Aldus. I never thought that any other company could be so arrogant.
