Maybe we can nag Apple into a perpetual chase for new insanely great features and products. Say it often enough and even they will believe its true.

I don't consider myself a loser. Although I agree that he has the right to his opinion.

That was great!

"The forums are ablaze with vitriolic rage. Haters pan the device for being less powerful than a Cray X1 while zealots counter that it is both smaller and lighter than a Buick Regal."

That part about Business Week was pretty good too.

Sigh... and here I sit listening to music over airtunes on my pre-ordered Airport Express wondering if it'll there'll be an update that allows it to stream audio from DVD player, and if so, will it encode Dolby 5.1 audio?

That is great!!

Who here hasn't done this...

On the morning of Steve Jobs’s keynote presentation, the online Apple store grinds to a halt as Mac-heads set their browsers to refresh every 15 second

That was great. And then I get to the end and I see he's from Portsmouth, NH....very close by to me. I also live in NH, crazy...

I had my post thought out when I was mid-way through:

"Yeah, that pretty much sums it up."

And to think I was worrying about offending people for that comment. ;)

I haven't, but only because I don't know how to make the browser auto-refresh.. hmm... I should work on that... :D

It could be worse: The Equivalent process for PC:

New Processor released

New Processor recalled as faulty

New Processor released again

No-one notices

More beige boxes arrive in shops

CNET says they're great great great! and Apple is doomed.

NEWS.COM predicts further decline in Apple Marketshare.

Microsoft writes more bloated software that consumes the new available processor cycles without a trace

Cubicle Drones everywhere continue to use their massively overpowered machines to read email (slowly)

Yet another first person shooter is written, now rendering more stupid stuff per second than ever before.

Game Kiddies demand faster processors right now so they can pretend to die/kill faster.

New processor released etc etc

More fun in the Mac camp I think!

Ditto. I chuckled out loud when I read that one. I've read "nerd porn." I feel dirty.

This guy knows the Mac rumour scene pretty well. His ranting reminded me of Maddox's wit (maddox.xmission.com), if Maddox were an observant Mac nerd.

Also when the guy talked about the "wait for rev. b" people, he forgot a bit
those posters within 2 days after release :

" New device, BUY NOW OR WAIT??"

:p :p :p

I hate those!

Very funny and absolutely spot on.

Apple issues it customary “we don’t comment on possible future products” statement in response to inquiries about the hypothetical new product. Mac fanatics are convinced that they're onto something.
...
Will it work with my ten-year-old Quadra 840AV running Mac OS 8.1?
...
The virtual slap-fight goes on and on, until obscure technical nuances like, “Will it play multiplexed Ogg Vorbis streams?” become matters of life and death
...
The rumor sites abound with half-baked theories blaming the shipping delay on everything from heat dissipation problems to SARS.
...
Nerd porn threads appear in the Mac forums. Some lunatic with too much time and money on his hands disassembles the new device down to the bare, soldered components and posts pictures.
...
The obligatory “I’m waiting for Rev. B” discussion appears in the Mac forums
...
Weeks before most users are able to hold Apple's new gadget in their hands, "What features would you like in the next version?" discussions take place on Mac mailing lists.
...

groundless speculation! bedwetting of tidal proportions! whoo-HOO! :D ...maybe I shouldn't be cheering that second one. :p

Yes, it's absolutely dead-on. But that's what Apple gets for building its brand around designing products to engage people at an emotional level: People respond to the anything the company does on an emotional level directly proportional to their engagement.

Powerbooks on Tuesday, ha! I'll just be happy if we really do see redesigned iMacs in September.

I love the "nerd porn" part. I had a jpeg on my computer called Naked G4 and my wife found it one day and I was in hot water until I opened the pic for her. I had taken the bottom cover off my Tibook 500 and taken a picture of its innards. It is just too funny that I titled the pic as naked and then this nerd porn label comes around. The really funny thing is that when I finally got my angry wife to look at the picture, she looked at it, shook her head, and called me a nerd! :D
