Do replacement iPhone 3G's (Not 3G S, 3G) come with the new bootrom?

that apple has pushed on all new iPhone 3G S's and the ipt3g?

For example: i send my iPhone 3G in for replacement, and they send me a new one. will is come with the new bootrom that is un-exploitable and requires a tethered boot?
