Apple Remote and Spotify

Hi, I use Spotify now instead on iTunes, I bought the new Apple Remote last night and since I actually paid for it instead of getting it with my Mac I thought I'd try to get it to work with Spotify.
Does anyone know how to? Or if it's even possible? I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.1)
