indesign crashing when mouse pointer goes to left of screen

hi
im using indesign cs3 on macbook.
has been working for many months.
but now, it boots up. things are working.
but when i move the mouse pointer to the left of the screen. eg to a pallete docked to the left hand side. the app crashes and quits.
i dont understand the codes and details of crash report.

i think maybe one of these two actions are suspect
- i super duper cloned my hard drive and swapped it over for new drive
- i installed little snitch software yesterday

i denied indesign accessing teh internet when i booted it up.
but ive tried allowing it to access net too. same crash problem.

any ideas?

shalli just try uninstalling indesign and re installing?
do i need to un install the whole of cs3 or just indesign?
