View Full Version : Mac users and their pets

So, what kind of pets do you Mac Users have, if any at all? If you don't have one, what kind of pet would you like to have, or why don't you want to have a pet... I thought I'd make my 400th post interesting...

I have a cat named snickers... He got that name, because when we found him, he would sleep outside in a snickers box that we had set up outside for him... Now, he only has a stub for a tail. I'll try to find a pic...

Oops, I didn't see that. I was on vacation... It's amazing how much you miss when you're gone from MacRumors... Oh well... Yet another contributing factor to the decay of arn's server...

Hey G4scott, you like stretching out and showing your pusssy??  :D

Ummmm, Stike, I think I speak for most people here in saying that we don't want to see a pick of your 'turtle'.

As for me, I only have 'virtual' pets. They are easy to maintain, don't need to be walked, and you don't feel bad if they 'die'. :D

Of some butt-ugly canines??? not even close there Bubba... :p

Maybe if you are lucky, I will take some pictures of the dog my father picked up when he got sick. It's mom's now, since dad sits on a shelf. I refer to him as 'Psycho' mainly because he can be totally nuts at times (in a good/friendly way).

I've said it before, to more then a few people, IF I was to ever get a pet, I would get a toy poodle. They are intelligent, well behaved, and small enough so that you don't need acres of land for them. Also, people that are allergic to all other breeds of dogs, are not to poodles. That is due to the fact that they have hair, not fur, just like [most] people. I can think of a few of the members of this site that prove that statement.  :p :D

Well, I had a dog, died about 2 months ago, sad, because the poor thing was older than I am. Soon I will get a new one. Well in the mean time, if you have just seen the new Austin Powers movie , check out the last line in my signature on the post. (Hint: things to do before I die)

Autsin Powers was great! Just saw it today myself - Fook Mi and Fook Yu - the Japanese Twins - my favorite name was Dixie Normus.

I was wondering, though, getting the thread back on topic, why there seem to be so many Mac Cat owners? Odd - I'm personally a dog person myself, but my wife brought the cats with her - and they are fun, but the dog is better.

I completely agree. I love dogs. I love to wrestle with them, play fetch and all that junk.

Luckily the cat that I am babysitting plays fetch with a hacky sack sometimes.

hey catfish, I read somewhere that someone had a monitor and their cat liked to sleep on it because it was warm... Well, one day all of the hair in the CRT caused the monitor to catch fire (not while the cat was on it, though)...

I have a picture somewhere of my cat using my iBook... It's funny...

[/B][/QUOTE]

a toy poodle? you're kidding right? i don't think that is a canine, it is a feline. 10 pounds of something to kick. i will send my shar-pei's on over and have them eat it for a small snack. if you want something that *****, get a ***** cat, not a "dog". do you carry the "dog" in your purse with you?

their so called intelligence probably stems from the necessity to observe people walking towards them and realize they must move in order to not get stepped on.

and here i think that since you have a soft tail, that you might be a tough/cool guy, and then you go and say you want a toy poodle. why? don't do that to yourself. please.

I have rabbits for pets. They are actually good pets: they can be litter trained like cats, and they are extremely curious. And if you have them fixed, you don't even have to worry about having even more rabbits.
My rabbits love my iMacs, but they would love anything that has an electric cord, even a Windows machine. They like to bite the cords because it feels good on their teeth. So I have all my cords wrapped in PVC pipe.
Here is a picture of one of my rabbits jumping for joy.

normally i wouldnt answer a duped thread, just dont like repeating myself, but we've recently added on to our family, so here goes. We have the one African dwarf hedgehog, Peter, who we've had for a year now... and we just got an African albino hedgehog, we think she was previously abused... kind of a difficult prospect, but we're slowly getting her to trust us. most people wouldn't think so, but hedgehogs are intensely emotional creatures, and when they're mistreated in their bonding time, it really screws 'em up...

if anyone wants me to, i will post pics later...

:)
