I have a macbook pro and want a large monitor to display my digital photos for CS4 photoshop. I want to be able to print them as they are seen on the monitor. Any recommendations?

When you say large, how large do you mean?

Apple do a nice 30" monitor. (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/M9179B/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MTA4MzU1OTQ)

Also how much have you got to spend?

If you want what you see on screen to match the prints you'll need some sort of calibration device too.

Making a print match a screen is very difficult. They use different perceptions of color. The screen uses additive color, your eye combines the RGB light it receives directly from the monitor. Print output is subtractive color, your eye perceives color as the parts of the white light spectrum that are reflected off the surface of the paper. They are different. Calibration can help a lot, but the calibrated image on the screen will seem darker than intended but will print OK.

what you're looking for is an IPS panel and calibration software. there are many monitors, so blindly asking for a recommendation doesn't go anywhere. what's your budget and how large of a monitor/resolution do you want?
