Nikon transfer

I use a Nikon D80 DSLR camera and I use Nikon transfer to load my pictures onto my computer. For some reason though, Nikon transfer stopped detecting photos on my camera and stopped detecting the camera itself. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do or not. Any help is much appreciated!

Have you tried a new cable, or a card reader? What program are you using to edit your photos with? Most programs will import images from a card reader.

This happens to me a lot, all I usually have to do is restart the computer with my camera connected.
