View Full Version : Looking for a quiet 360 power brick

My 360 got the RROD a couple years ago due to the power brick. I bought a new one to replace it and it works fine, but the new one is LOUD AS HELL. A little noise doesn't normally bug me, but I have to turn my TV way up just to be able to hear it over this thing.
Does anyone know of a quiet power brick that cools well?

I think mine's silent; at least I can't hear it over the ambient noise in the room. Maybe you've ended up with a defective one so I'd suggest seeing whether you can get it replaced.

My falcon one is quiet too.

I bought this one a year or two ago so I can't get it replaced. I guess any new one will be quiet enough.

^ Well yes & no. You need the power supply that matches your machine. A new Jasper power supply would probably not provide you with enough juice to run your 360, and if anything increase the chances of a RROD.
So make sure you buy the same model as your existing and check the wattage /output.

I thought the power plugs changed after Falcon so that a Falcon or later supply would not fit an older 360.

The Brick doesn't make any noise? You got system fans and the drive. It's nearly always the drive that's ridiculously loud.

Maybe. I was just trying to be pre-cautionary :) :)
