The floppy superdive could read both regular 1.4MB disks as well as "super" 120MB disks.

No, you're thinking of the SuperDisk. The original Apple 1.44MB Superdrive was the Superdrive because it could read Apple and MS-DOS format floppies - it had been around since about the time of the IIci. The Imation 120MB superthingy came much later, and the internal version was PC only, IIRC. There was an external USB model that they released for the iMac that was popular, due to it's lack of a built in floppy.
