OK, so there's a "favorite Christmas music" thread, but that's about individual songs. I thought that we should talk about our favorite albums by certain artists. You can talk about singles and EP's, too.

Here are some of my faves:
*Midwinter Graces-Tori Amos
*Jethro Tull Christmas Album-Jethro Tull
*Christmas With Weezer-Weezer
*"Rockin Around the Christmas Tree"-Miley Cyrus
*"Greensleeves"-Vanessa Carlton
*A Fresh Aire Christmas-Mannheim Steamroller
*Holidium-Torley on Piano (free download at Jamendo)

What about you?

The Blenders are an acappella quartet from Minneapolis that put on a series of seasonal performances every year. Best Buy carries their CDs, and the mp3s can be purchased on iTunes. I highly recommend their Christmas albums: Nog, When It Snows, and Most Wonderful Time. There are also a couple of compilations that are repackages of songs from these albums.

Samples can be heard at their website (theblenders.com)!

Personally, I mostly like old school Christmas songs. I have the Time Life Christmas CD set. So, that pretty much has everything you would ever want on it.

My favorite traditional Christmas songs are Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, The Little Drummer Boy and O Holy Night. Favorite non-traditional is Andy Williams’ It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

I also like 'The Christmas Attic’ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (love ‘Christmas Canon’) and ‘Merry Christmas’ by Mariah Carey (picked this up in the bargain bin years ago, not usually a fan of her but it’s a great Christmas CD).

In that case, have you tried the Carpenters' "Christmas Portrait"?

I'm not a real big fan of Christmas albums, but I do have a few I like.

I love the Merry Axemas series (vol 1 and 2). Volume 1 is the best, but 2 is ok. It has people like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Perry, and others playing the old favorites on guitar.

I also like a couple of the TSO albums. When I want something more laid back, I go for the Charlie Brown Christmas or any of the Elvis albums.

The four Christmas Albums from Mannheim Steamroller:

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas (1984)
A Fresh Aire Christmas (1988)
Christmas in the Aire (1995)
Christmas Extraordinaire (2001)

Are still by far my favorite Christmas albums. http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/good2.gif That's why I have them on my iPods.

I would have to vote for Sufjan Stevens' five Christmas EPs. But besides those EPs, I have no Christmas albums. I do sometimes download a single Christmas song, though. I now have fifty. Of those, my favourites are Fairytale Of New York by the Pogues, Little Drummer Boy by Tori Amos, Christmas Party by The Walkmen, Christmas In America by Melissa Etheridge and Mery Christmas Darling by The Carpenters. All I Want For Christmas by Daffy Duck is pretty awesome as well.

I like a lot of them, the classics like Bing and Nat and all that... but the 3 I found that stood out for me this year...

Bob Dylan - Christmas in the Heart
Bootsy Collins - Christmas is 4 Ever
Booker T & The MGs - In The Christmas Spirit

probably because a) the Dylan album was new and b) the other 2 don't get a lot of air time in the malls lol

A Christmas album - Barbra Streisand

BINGO. One of the most AMAZING albums. Also, Jose Feliciano. INCREDIBLE AS WELL. And like others have said, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, The Carpenters..David Foster produced an album in like 1993. It has some really great stuff on it to. I like Michael Crawfords' rendetion of 'O' Holy Night.
