Hey there
I decided to take the plunge back to MAC today n ordered an I7 (with normal keyboard n mouse) from Henrys on Yonge/Steeles n was wondering if anyone in the Toronto general area has received their I7 as of yet?
My last MAC was the G4 tower when it first came out w/ FC 2.0 so looking forward tot he new specs on the quad. Hopefully I do not receive a dud as many people seems to be receiving with these new IMACS.
For those that have received their I7, has anyone tested rendering in FC Express or Pro and have they noticed a significant improvement over past systems etc? Any examples of how long say a 3 minute clip would take to render with color correction, cross fades, multi layered windows etc.
I'm a newbie on this forum but an ancient online :)

Resellers will probably get them late this week or sometime next week.
At this time only Apple is shipping units as of last week.
I received mine today :o

@UncleD I ordered an i7 iMac w/ 2TB HD, 8GB RAM, on November 10 from Henry's. They couldn't give me an exact date and just said that it would take about two weeks.

I ordered an i7 with 4x2 GiB RAM and a 2-TB HDD from the Apple Store website on November 5th. The computer was shipped yesterday (the 16th China time), and its delivery is scheduled for next Monday (the 23rd). I received the remote today. The remote and AppleCare have already been charged to my card; I expect to see the charge for the computer tomorrow.

Yeah I believe this order will also be a direct order to Apple as well unless Henrys already has there wharehouse stalked.
Hopefully not too long a wait. I have the itch lol

Yeah I think that's the standard reply and I deal with one of my main hookups @ Henrys for all my Canon dslr geara n lenses etc. However one of the other head guys mentioned that they did have the I7's in stock at the wharehouse n it was just a matter of a week to get them in the system for ddistribution. Hopefully this time next week I'm off to editing on this beast

Wow that was quite the wait indeed, Hopefullly it arrives soon.
Thanks for the reminder about the remote, I knew I forgot something on that order and will call in tomorrow to add the remote as well.
I gave a deposit today for the comp n will settle the remainder when it arrives. I buy quite abit from them so perhaps the deposit was out of the norm, but regardless, happy the decision was finally made.
I'll juice it up with extra RAM on my 'own' dime when it arrives n prob do the 12G total which should be more than enough.... I hope :)
