I recently splashed out and bought a Hauppauge HD PVR and the resulting files are awesome if I keep them in the m2ts format. I'd like to get these files on my apple tv and have been down the hacked apple tv in the past without a great deal of joy so I'm looking for a decent windows based program for converting these files to m4v files suitable for the apple tv. Anyone had any good experiences with this? The ArcSoft software that comes with the HD PVR is crap and I've played about a bit with Handbrake with poor results. Any thoughts?

Try Handbrake's latest SVN snapshot.

Hi Cave Man,
Sorry to sound like a total novice here (but I am) could you elaborate on what you mean by "latest SVN snapshot". I wouldn't dare ask on Handbrake's forum as I'd be horse whipped but you guys on this forum are usually fairly forgiving on us novices :)

Thanks I've downloaded the latest snapshot and while the picture quality seems good, the audio is slightly out of sync when played thru the apple tv. Any ideas wheterh this is a file convertion artifact or is this a hardware problem?
