Hiya Guys. I'm new to all things Mac so sorry if it seems like I am asking stupid questions.

I'm thinking about getting a Time Capsule. But I have a question. I don't want it to be the main modem in my home. I want to use it to back up wirelessly, or through cable, my important data, e.g. music, photos, videos etc etc. Can I do this through the internet that is already in my house?

Thanks in advance.

What OS will you be using your Time Capsule with; Mac OS X or Windows?

Basically run the AirPort Utility software (built into OSX or via Install disc with the time capsule for Windows).
You can have the Time Capsule Wirelessly Join your current network (so you can place the TC anywhere in your home and have it connect to your current network similar to your other wireless devices)
OR have it next to your current Router/Modem and plugged in via Ethernet

From there you can set up the Time Machine process and have it all set up in a few minutes, its pretty straight forward upon installation and set up.

So you shouldnt have to worry about anything.

goodluck
