Hi all,

With over 100,000 apps available, as a developer it's getting harder to get my apps noticed. Apple seems to be moving to a more search based App Store than a browse style App Store.

I'm curious to know, when you're looking for an app do you generally;

Browse through the top 100 lists,
Look at the recent releases,
Do a search?

If you search, what do you search for?

Specific app names,
General terms like "fun apps", "touch games" etc
or for specific tasks like "camera", "mapping" etc?

Ideally I'd like the people who are interested in my type of app to be able to find it so any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Travis

If I need a specific kind of app, I'll try different words associated with that kind of app out. For example if I'm searching for a MS Paint kind of app, I'll try, 'draw', 'paint', and 'sketch' in seperate searches.

Then get tweets from Touch Arcade - that is about it other than monitor the app section on Macrumors.

Also MacRumors forums - generally you can get a lot of good suggestions here.

Browsing Touch Arcade is my number one source. Although it's obviously gaming mostly, it's still very worthwile to be active there as a dev. Otherwise I tend to use the mobile app store and browse categories for new releases, check the top grossing, and/or use specific search terms for things of interest.
