Description:: íve recently gotten into playing around with GeekTool, an add-on System Preference Pane that allows you to add a wide range of both useful and useless things to your desktop, not only to make your life easier, but to make other geeks feel inferior. Sure, you can display the current date and time in the menu bar like a noob, but why not have a GIANT clock right in the middle of you desktop? Or show CPU usage, AirPort signal strength, Processor temps, RSS feeds, Facebook updates, computer uptime, iCal events, current weather conditions, etc.?

That is a very good, informative, and helpful guide.

I love the Spiderman desktop example; very clever.

That is all :).

I would have thought something like this would be quite difficult. Now I need to try it.

Plenty of resources here to begin. - LINK (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=628023)

I started with Geektool just been reading from page one and testing each code/script/option.

Funny you should link that. I was trying to get an iTunes code working and kept googling. That's the thread I came up with that ultimately got it working.
